New hair!

So, about a week and a half ago I got a perm. I HATE fixing my hair in the summer. Using heat on your hair when it is already a million degrees outside just isn’t my idea of fun. I figured a perm would give me a simple fix to this dilemma and I was right! So far I love it! This was picture was taken right after I got it done and it has relaxed quite a bit since then.

As far as products go, I have been using the Bed Head Foxy Curls Contour Cream and I really like it! They woman at the salon used it and I went out and bought it after my appointment was over! It keeps the curls looking nice with out making my hair look crispy. That’s kind of a weird way to describe it, but I can’t think of any other way. I just hate it when people put crap in their hair that makes it look like it would crunch if I touched it.

I just thought I would share my new look with everyone!
If you have any suggestions for good curly hair products I would love for you to share them with me!

Birchbox: July 2011

So, I was super hyped up about this months Birchbox… until I got it… I heard that some people were getting Zoya nail polish from the Touch collection and I was SO excited and then I didn’t get any, BUT I still like some of the things I got this month (mainly the food). So, here is my review on my July Birchbox!

Birchbox website: http://www.birchbox.com/

Korres Showergel:
(A deliciously foamy body wash with aloe to keep skin soft long after you’ve toweled off and an exotically lush fragrance.*)
I really love this body wash! I’ve been alternating between it and my regular body wash because I don’t want to use it all up! The full size is $19.50 and I can’t really see myself spending that much on a body wash. Therefor, I am using it sparingly!

Philosophy purity made simple one-step facial cleanser:
(This perennial award-winner is pH-balanced to gently clear away dirt, oil, and makeup without drying out skin.*)
I’ve only used this once so far and I don’t have any complaints, but I also don’t have any life changing stories. It did what it said it would do… as does my other face wash. I don’t think I’ll be converting to this one, but it is nice to have a travel size face wash. :)

Redken shine flash:
(A must for all Cynthia’s runway shows, this weightless spray gives hair a brilliant sheen.*
The smell is awful! Like, oh my goodness, what is that horrible smell? BUT it does make your hair shiny! I like to use it to smooth down fly away hairs, but other than that I’m not in love with it. It’s a good product, but I can’t see myself investing in the full size.

yfb beauty automatic eye brow pencil in universal taupe:
(A two-in-one brow tamer: the comb brushes hairs into place, while the creamy pencil fills in sparse areas.*)
I have yet to use this product… I’ve never felt like I needed to fill in my eyebrows. My eyebrows are VERY light. Like blond and I feel like if I tried to fill them in they would just look unnaturally dark. I’ll have to give this product a try though. Maybe it will change my life… err eyebrows.

EXTRA Kind Almond and Apricot:
(Snack right with this wholesome bar- no preservatives or hard-to-pronounce ingredients.*
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS EVER! I am a huge granola/on-the-go snack fan. During school I usually just grab something and eat while I’m walking to class. Also, I love keeping bars like this with me, because well… I’m always hungry? As soon as I tried this I fell in love and started researching where I could buy these in my area! I have yet to purchase a box, but trust me, I am going to! (Notice, I ate the bar before I even took the picture… I just couldn’t wait!)

Overall this month wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t my favorite one… I just really wanted some Zoya. :( Oh well, I’ll get over it!

I hope you guys enjoyed this!

Would You Rather tag :)

Hey guys! I came across this tag on Youtube in one of Amarixe’s videos! She is probably my all time favorite beauty vlogger! Here is a link to her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwGWK7yozGM&feature=youtube_gdata

I hope you guys enjoy this!

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
This one is easy. I would go with the first. I don’t own that much eyeshadow, but what I do have, I love dearly and would be so sad if it was all gone! Eyeshadow is easily my favorite product ever.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I would rather never be able to cut it. I don’t think I would look good with short hair or worse than that… bald…

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I’m a fan of pink cheeks! I have one coral blush, and I love it, but I think pink looks better on me. I’ve wore pink blush all my life and just now started branching out into different colors, so maybe my opinion will change. :)

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
This is so extremely hard for me. Clothes are my weekness, but makeup is just so much more fun. I think I would have to go with makeup. I have to many clothes anyway and I don’t think I could ever own to many eyeshadows. ;)

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Probably eyeliner as a lipstick. If it was the other way around, I would probably look like a hot nasty mess.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
This is so hard! I love Mac with all of my heart, but I think Sephora would be the more practical decision. There are only certain things I like at Mac, and with Sephora I could have it all. I would miss Mac terribly though.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Well, seeing as I really only use one lipcolor at the moment, I would have to go with that. Once I find a lip color that looks good on me, I usually stick with it. I have much more fun buying eyeshadows than I do lipcolor.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Probably winter clothes in the summer. I can’t imagine it snowing outside and me being in a tank top and shorts… Although, I can’t really imagine me wearing jeans, a sweater and Ugg boots in the summer… Both would be equally ridiculous.

9.) Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails! I rarely wear dark nails, so this is easy!

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
My favorite lip product is Mac’s Viva Glam 5. As sad as I would be, I could never give up my Naked Palette. I would miss that lip stick though.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
A pony tail. I pretty much wear my hair in a pony tail 4 out of 7 days, so this isn’t a big stretch for me.

12.) Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss. This wouldn’t be to hard for me, because I rarely wear lip gloss anyway, but if I could never paint my nails again I may die. It’s one of my favorite things to do!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?
I would rather have none at all. I think people would stare more if I had thick black sharpie eyebrows than if I had none at all. Actually, I know they would, because it took me forever to realize Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t have any, but I know someone that draws on her eyebrows and lets just say it looks like she uses a sharpie…

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I think i’d have to go with nail polish. I can go without wearing nail polish for weeks, but I can hardly go a day with out applying eyeshadow. My eyes would feel so naked.

HARE Polish

So, I’m a horrible person and I’m sorry!

I feel guilty for not updating this blog in like… forever and I have no good excuses except for the fact that I’m lazy, but now I’m back and I have a few post lined up for the next few days! :)

HARE Polish: Bisbee
with OPI Top Coat and Seche Base

So, I discovered this polish through Tumblr actually. It’s hand made and sold on Etsy and I love it!
Once I realized that the blog I was following was selling this polish on Etsy, I knew I had to get my hands on a bottle of it! The only problem is, everyone one else felt the same way too. In this color they only stock about 8 at a time and they sell out so fast! So, when I got on Tumblr a few weeks ago and realized they had restocked their Etsy shop I quickly went over to it to see if they still had some in stock, and I was in luck! They has just a few bottles left and I managed to get my hands on it!

I was so excited to get this polish and it did not disappoint! The huge chunks of glitter are so amazing and the turquoise is so pretty in person! I’m hoping to purchase their other colors too. They are all beautiful!

If you can get your hands on this polish, or any of the other colors they make, I suggest you do! It is worth the money!

Love, Jennifer

Birchbox: June 2011

Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t been around lately. Between work and well… work… I don’t have time for much of anything and I find myself sleeping on my time off. :)

I got my June Birchbox a while ago and I thought I’d share what was inside!

Birchbox website: http://www.birchbox.com/

Amika Obliphica Oil Treatment:
(Perfect for summer, this blend of nourishing argan and jojoba oils calms frizz, hydrates dried ends, and protects from UV rays.*)
At the moment I am currently hooked on Macadamia Healing Oil and I haven’t gotten a chance to try this one out yet, but it smells really nice. :)

Kate Spade Twirl: (not shown)
(This flirty scent feels carefree and joyful- just the thing to wear on your adventures at home and abroad.*)

I passed this perfume off to my mom after I smelled it and started sneezing. The smell was wonderful, but not something my allergies could handle.

Laura Geller Bakes Blush N’ Brighten:
(Made in Italy, this swirl of warm and cool tones is infinitely versatile- dust on your cheeks for a flattering flush or use the lighter shades as a highlighter.*)
This is so amazing! At first I thought it was going to be to dark for my skin, but after I applied it, I saw that if I just apply lightly, then it looked great! It gives you a really sun kissed glow. What I’ve started doing is applying this to my cheeks and then applying a matte blush over it. That way I can have some color, but also some shine :)

Pangea Organics Toner For Normal/Oily Skin:
(Laced with mandarin and lime, this energizing toner is a skincare staple and the ideal on-the-go refresher. + Pangea Organics Balancing Oil *)
I really like this toner… Although, I’m not really sure what exactly it does for my skin. To me it is just very refreshing and I love the smell! I’ve been using it right after I get out of the shower in the morning.
Along with this Pangea product, I got a trial size of the balancing oil. So far I’ve only used it once and I did not like it at all. The smell is awful and I didn’t see that it did anything amazing for my skin. It’s probably one of those products that you have to use a few times to see a change, but I can’t get over the smell. I hated it!

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad:
(These mess-feww towelettes have exfoliating and anti-aging ingredients to ensure an even, streak-free faux tan.*)
I’ve been looking for a great fake tanner and I was so excited to get these! I have yet to use them, but I think I’m going to tonight! I actually kinda forgot about them until I sat down to type this blog!

*Description according to Birchbox

Sorry this was kinda short. I just haven’t been in the blogging mood lately. Working everyday is really taking it out of me, but I truly miss blogging! I’ll try to get a few more posts lined up! I hate that I haven’t put anything up in weeks!

Make-up Questions TAG

Hey guys!

So, I didn’t exactly get tagged, but I kinda sorta did.

I watched this video (and loved it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35r4XFtVMUY
and she tagged everyone… so yea. :)

If you haven’t checked out her Youtube or tumblr, you should. She’s very knowledgeable and lovely.
Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/beaubits
Tumblr: http://beaubits.tumblr.com/

1. When you first started wearing makeup, what was the very first product you used?
When I decided that I wanted to start wearing make-up I was in the 7th grade I think… that would put me around 13ish. Well, at the time pretty much all my mom wore was Mary Kay so when I asked her about make-up she decided to have the Mark Kay lady come to our house and teach me about make-up. I think that night I ended up getting a foundation, a concealer, a blush, some kind of eyeshadow, maybe some mascara?, and a eye liner… I think. So, yea, those were my very first products.

2. If you had to use only one makeup brand for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This one is kinda hard for me. I use specific products from all different brands. I don’t really have one brand I own more from than another. I guess if I had to pick, it would be Mac. I just love Mac, but sadly I don’t own that many things from them.

3. You have only 5 minutes to do your makeup, what products do you use and which would you skip?
I would use my Physicians Formula: Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder, my Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette, my NARS Orgasm blush, and my Covergirl Lash Blast Length mascara (easily my favorite mascara EVER).
I would have to skip eyeshadow, eye liner, bronzer and foundation.

4. If you had a free $100 shopping spree at Sephora, what would you buy?

  • NARS Orgasm Lipgloss ($24)
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy Rides Again ($17)
  • Stila eyeshadow in Kitten ($18)
  • Smashbox Softbox Eye Palette ($48)

That puts me at $107, but I’m ok with paying the difference. :)

5. What was the very first MAC product you ever purchased?
It was either a lipgloss or an eyeshadow, but I can’t remember. I may have purchased both of those at the same time…  I just remember being in about the 9th grade and going to Mac and buying those things. I couldn’t even tell you what the color were either. They have long since been used up!

6. You have to use only 3 makeup products for a whole week, what would they be and why?

  1. My Physicians Formula: Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Loose Powder. I am in love with this powder! I’ve been using it for about 4ish years and it is wonderful! It covers great and just leaves my skin feeling good!
  2. My NARS Orgasm blush. I love the prefect flush it adds to your skin! The subtle shimmer also looks great in the summer sun.
  3. My Covergirl Lash Blast Length mascara. I have tried a ton of mascaras and this is the best one I’ve found! It doesn’t flake off and it leave my lashes looking long and beautiful!

7. What is your favorite drugstore brand?
Physicians Formula would have to be my favorite. It’s a little bit more expensive than most drug store brands, but the quality is great. I’ve only used products from their Organic line, but so far I’ve really loved everything I’ve tried.

8. What is your favorite collection MAC has ever came out with?
I’ve been using Mac for years, but only in the past few months I’ve really started getting back into make-up. Since I’ve started following Mac again I haven’t really loved any of their new lines. I guess the Surf, Baby! collection would have to be my favorite, if I had to chose one.

I hope you guys enjoyed this! I tag everyone? I guess that’s what I’m supposed to say! :)

OPI: What’s With The Catitude?
Nubar: Nubar 2010
with OPI Top Coat and Seche Base

What’s With The Catitude? from the Shrek Forever collection has got to be one of my favorite OPI colors of all time. It’s is the prettiest brightest robins egg blue and it screams summer!  Every time I wear it I just feel happier! :)

Over it I have a layer of Nubar 2010… not that any of you are surprised… I’m addicted to this nail polish! I’ve gotten in the habit of layering it over every single color I use! It’s just so pretty! I can’t help myself! The pictures really don’t do it justice. I just can’t seem to capture the flakies perfectly!

I’m proud to say that I haven’t bought any new bottles of nail polish in at least a week! This is like a new record for me!

My Favorite Summer….

Hey guys! I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite summer products! I hope you enjoy!

(I took all these pictures from Google images. I’m to lazy to go hunt down all my products and take pictures of them.)

Lip product: EOS lip balm in Sweet Mint
I am so addicted to this product! For the longest time (probably about 8ish years) the only lip balm I would use was Burt’s Bees, but recently I’ve been branching out. I ran out of Burt’s Bees and just decided to try something new and I’m so glad I did! This lip balm smells and feel amazing! The only thing I don’t love is that packaging. It’s not east to just carry in your pocket or in a small bag. I’ve been on the hunt for the stick form, but I can only seem to find it online.
I also really like the flavor Lemon Drop and it has SPF 15. I tend to use it when I’m going to go out to the pool or spend extended periods of time outside.

Blush: NARS Orgasm
I just purchased this blush at the beginning of last month and I don’t know how I’ve lived without it. It adds the perfect flush to my cheeks and it’s the perfect summer shade. It’s like one of those “my cheeks but better” products. :)

Nail Polish: Nubar- Nubar 2010 and Zoya- Rica
I am so addicted to nail polish that I couldn’t just pick one! The first one is Nubar 2010. It looks amazing over every single nail polish. All of them. It looks so beautiful outside when the sun catches it! My second favorite is Rica by Zoya. I just go this one a few weeks ago and I’m already in love with it. It is the perfect summer toes color! It has a TON of sparkle and it looks BEAUTIFUL in the sun light!

Liquid face product: Mary Kay Medium-Coverage Foundation
I have been using this foundation since I started wearing make-up in the 7th grade. I’ve just never found a foundation that is as good as this one. That being said, I haven’t tried that many foundations, but I figure that if I love this one so much, there isn’t much need to try a ton of others.

Powder face product: Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Bronzer
I’ve had this Bronzer for a while now, but I just never tried it out. I remember I got in in a gift set around Christmas time like a year or two ago and just wasn’t interested in it, but a few weeks ago I decided to try it out again and I’m so glad I did! I have very fair skin so I’ve always thought bronzers would make my skin look dirty, but I was so wrong. This Bronzer adds just a touch of natural glow and it is so pretty!

Hair product: Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
I am so thankful for this hair product! My parents just got our pool up last week and ever since then I’ve been in the pool just about everyday, but my hair isn’t loving me for it! Usually right after I swim, I take a shower, and I put this conditioner all throughout my hair and leave it in while I do something else. When I rinse it out not only does my hair smell AMAZING, but it is SUPER soft! It’s great for getting my hair back to a healthy manageable state!

Eye product: Urban Decay’s Naked Palette
I can’t say enough good things about this palette! I’ve always worn more neutral shades on my eyes and when I saw this palette I knew I had to have it! All the colors are extremely pigmented, they go on great and they last all day! This palette is at bit expensive at around $50, but it is totally worth it! It has every color I’ll ever need in it!

Fashion accessory: Coach Ashely Signature Sateen Satchel
A few weeks ago I was on the hunt for a black bag in my closet and I realized that I didn’t own ONE black bag! Well, that just wouldn’t do. I began hunting for the prefect black bag and I came across this one at an online Coach outlet sale. It really was love at first sight. This bag is prefect for me! I tote around a ton of unnecessary crap with me at all times and this bag is hugh! I love it! I’m also addicted to Coach, so that also makes me love it that much more.  :)

Clothing piece: Old Navy Flip-Flops
My staple summer outfit is shorts, a tank top, and Old Navy flip-flops. Preferably gray ones. I have a ton of favorite shorts and tank tops, but it would take ages to locate a picture of each one of them, so I decided to show you my all time favorite summer shoes! I have several pairs of cute more stylish summer shoes that I wear from time to time, but if I’m in a hurry or an just having a lazy day (which is more often than not) I will grab these shoes. They are just my favorite summer shoes! :)

You should do a nail polish collection blog... or video :) I love those!

Asked by: sectumsempras

I’ve been thinking about doing one of those! I think I’ll do a blog.
